I think Palin won this battle hands-down. Letterman's comments were out of bounds. During the Clinton administration, Chelsea was hands-off. Even during Hillary's presidential race, discussion of Bill's afair with Hillary was out of bounds (remember the time when one reporter tried it? He never got an answer).
If Letterman's comments had been about Obama's daughters, he would have been seen as racist.
Palin stayed classy during all of this mess. She asked for an apology for all women, not for herself.
